Marsh Cone Funnel — Grout and Slurry Flow Test

The Marsh Cone Funnel is used to measure the flow time (viscosity) of cement grout, bentonite slurry, drilling mud, and self-compacting concrete as per IS 9012, API RP 13B-1, and ASTM C939. The cone is filled with the fluid, the outlet is opened, and the time for 1 litre (or a specified volume) to flow through the nozzle is recorded as the Marsh funnel viscosity in seconds. Higher flow time indicates higher viscosity.
