PRIMA-100 Light Weight Deflectometer (LWD)

The PRIMA-100 Light Weight Deflectometer is a portable falling-weight device used to measure the dynamic plate load bearing capacity (Evd) of unbound granular layers, sub-bases, subgrades, and compacted fill during road construction. It delivers a standardised impulse load and records deflection via a seismic transducer, giving instant Evd values in MPa.

Advantage Over Static PLT

A conventional plate load test (IS 1888) takes 4–6 hours per point. The PRIMA-100 completes a test in under 2 minutes per point, making it practical for 100% spot-check coverage of embankment layers on high-speed rail and highway projects.
