The Elastic Recovery Mould (Ductility Briquette Mould) casts standard dog-bone shaped bitumen specimens used to determine the elastic recovery of polymer-modified bitumen (PMB) as per IS 15462, ASTM D6084, and IRC SP 53. The specimen is elongated to a specified length in a ductility bath, cut at the midpoint, and the recovered length is measured after a rest period — quantifying the elastomeric (rubber-like) recovery property critical for PMB used in highway surface courses.
