The Bitumen Content Tester (Centrifuge Extractor) is used to determine the bitumen content of bituminous mixes (DBM, BC, WMM) as per IS 2386 Part 1, IS 1203, and ASTM D2172. The bituminous mix is dissolved in a solvent (trichloroethylene or benzene alternative) and centrifuged to separate aggregate from binder. The binder content is calculated by weight difference.
