Paper thickness gauge micrometer for caliper measurement of paper, board, and film per ISO 534, TAPPI T411, IS 1060 Part 2. 1 μm resolution, 100 g/cm² measuring force, 16 mm anvil. JS Civil Lab Solutions India.
The Paper Thickness Gauge (Paper Micrometer / Caliper Gauge) is used to measure the caliper (thickness) of paper, board, tissue, film, and packaging materials as per ISO 534, TAPPI T411, IS 1060 Part 2, and BS 3983. It applies a standard measuring force (typically 100 g/cm² for paper, 200 g/cm² for board) through a flat circular anvil and foot, and gives a direct thickness reading in μm (microns) or mm.
JS Civil Lab Solutions supplies dial and digital paper thickness gauges for paper mills, board manufacturers, and packaging QC laboratories.
Paper caliper directly affects printing quality (ink impression), stiffness, packaging integrity, and converting performance. GSM (weight) and caliper together determine bulk — higher bulk = stiffer paper at same GSM. For corrugated board, flute height and liner caliper are critical for BCT (Box Compression Test) performance.
