Resipod – Concrete Resistivity Meter for Corrosion Risk Assessment

The Resipod by Proceq is a portable, four-point (Wenner array) concrete resistivity meter used to assess the risk of corrosion in reinforced concrete structures. Concrete resistivity is a key durability parameter: low resistivity means the concrete pore solution is highly conductive, which accelerates electrochemical corrosion of embedded rebar.

Why Measure Concrete Resistivity?

Concrete resistivity correlates directly with chloride ion diffusivity and corrosion rate. RILEM and fib recommendations define threshold resistivity values above which corrosion remains passive, allowing engineers to assess structural durability without destructive sampling:

• >200 Ω·m → Negligible corrosion risk
• 100–200 Ω·m → Low risk
• 50–100 Ω·m → Moderate risk
• <50 Ω·m → High corrosion risk
