Concrete Beam Mould — Flexural Strength Testing

The Concrete Beam Mould is used to cast standard concrete beam specimens for flexural strength (modulus of rupture) testing as per IS 516, IS 456, and BS 1881. The mould produces 150 mm × 150 mm × 700 mm beams, which are cured and tested under a three-point or four-point loading frame to determine tensile strength in bending.

Beam Mould Testing Procedure

Fresh concrete is filled in three layers, each compacted with a tamping rod or vibrator as per IS 516. After 24 hours, the mould is stripped and the specimen is transferred to a curing tank for 28 days. Flexural strength is tested using a universal testing machine or beam-testing fixture.
