Analogue Outside Micrometer — 0–25 mm

The Analogue Outside Micrometer (0–25 mm) is a classic precision hand tool used for accurate external diameter and thickness measurement with a resolution of 0.01 mm. It uses a finely threaded spindle and a thimble scale with vernier graduation to achieve 0.001 mm (1 μm) resolution on vernier models — making it one of the most widely used precision instruments in mechanical, civil, and manufacturing laboratories worldwide.

Analogue vs Digital Micrometer

Analogue micrometers require the user to read both the sleeve scale and thimble scale — developing measurement skill and avoiding digital display dependency. They are preferred in calibration labs as primary standards and in environments where electronic instruments are impractical (high humidity, explosive atmosphere, or where batteries are restricted). Digital models (ID 1217, 1221) are faster for production use.
