The Shrinkage Bar Mould (Prism Mould) is used to cast standard prism specimens for measuring the drying shrinkage of cement mortar and concrete as per IS 4031 Part 10 and ASTM C157. The mould incorporates embedded gauge studs at each end of the prism, allowing precise length-change measurement on a length comparator at specified curing intervals to quantify shrinkage strain over time.

Cast mortar/concrete prisms, demould at 24 hours, take initial length reading, then store under specified curing/drying conditions, taking periodic length readings on a digital length comparator (ID 1718) at 7, 14, 28 days and beyond per IS 4031 Part 10. Shrinkage is reported as percentage length change.
